Uprooting Male Domination

Women's Studies Online is honoured to host a special 2-hour event featuring Sheila Jeffreys. Sheila will share a selection of her carefully curated mini-lectures from her brilliant new book, Uprooting Male Domination: Dispatches from the Sex Wars (forthcoming through Spinifex Press). Sheila will discuss a range of topics including femininity, equality, racism in the sex industry, and lesbian feminism. Participants will be given the opportunity to take part in Q & A sessions intermittently throughout the lecture focused on some of the most pressing issues women face today.

About Sheila Jeffreys

Sheila Jeffreys is a radical lesbian feminist writer and activist. She entered the Women’s Liberation Movement in the UK in 1973 and was involved in the movement there for 18 years before moving to the University of Melbourne where she was a Professor of feminist politics. She has written 12 books on the theory and politics of sexuality.
